Nakia Reddick – Executive Director

Reddick celebrates ten-years of giving back to the Waterbury community through his role as Executive Director of BAGS Foundation CT.

Growing up in Miami, Florida, Nakia Reddick began playing football at age 7 at the Hialeah Optimist Club. He earned all-county honors in high school with a 16-sack season. Reddick was also a letter winner in wrestling and track. He credits his high school football coach, Mark Guandolo, for his transition from high school standout to successful collegiate student-athlete.

Reddick became a four-year starting linebacker at the University of Central Florida earning his place as the third all-time leading tackler in school history. Reddick, along with Daunte Culpepper and Asante Samuel, was chosen for the All-Anniversary team celebrating the greatest players in UCF history.

In 1997 Reddick was a free agent pick of the Carolina Panthers where he was placed on the practice squad while making the transition from linebacker to strong safety. In 1998, Reddick went to the Indianapolis Colts where he became Special Teams Captain before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

In 2004, Reddick began working for The PGA TOUR. The Tour places a strong emphasis on charity fundraising, usually on behalf of local charities in cities where events are staged. In 2005, The Tour started a campaign to push its all-time fundraising tally past one billion dollars (“Drive to a Billion”); it reached that mark one week before the end of the season. Reddick spent 6 years with The PGA TOUR scoring golf tournaments around the world. During that time he was inspired to give back and decided to return to his true passion…teaching and coaching young people in the game of life through BAGS Foundation CT.
